About the speaker:
Dr.T Sundararaman is a public health expert, he is former executive director of the National Health Systems Resource Centre, and former dean of School of Health System Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS). He is also former Director of State Health Resource Center in Chhattisgarh where he provided technical guidance to launch a major community health worker program and strengthened its public health system.
Dr. Sundararaman has been actively involved in the health and education movements in India with Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (People’s Health Movement India) and All India People’s Science Network (AIPSN). He is a founding member of AIPSN and has been part of the PHM since its formation. He also played a lead role in organising the first National Health Assembly and creating JSA.
Currently he is the global coordinator of Public Health Movement, a global network of grassroots health activists, civil society organisations and academic institutions around the world with presence in 70 countries. He has written over fifty books, on health issues and a number of articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
