All hopes of relaxing patent laws for Covid vaccines were lost in the 12th Ministerial Conference of WTO held in Geneva. Before the conference, there were high expectations for the proposal piloted by India and South Africa. But it was an anti-climax, with India backtracking and South Africa a silent witness. What exactly led to the debacle of the whole developing world, where millions died in the pandemic for want of medicines and vaccines?.
