We invite you to join an important public discussion on the growing inequalities in society and the urgent need to address the widening gap between the ultra-rich and those at the bottom. At a time when wealth and resources are becoming increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few, it is necessary to critically examine the social, economic, and political implications of rising inequality.
The discussion will reflect on the realities faced by large sections of people who continue to struggle with unemployment, insecurity, displacement, lack of access to basic services, and economic vulnerability, even as extreme wealth continues to expand at unprecedented levels. The session aims to bring together perspectives from public intellectuals, activists, and peopleās movements to better understand the nature of inequality in contemporary India and the need for collective action and policy interventions.
The programme will include snippets from the campaign against inequality, highlighting ongoing efforts and voices raising concerns about deepening social and economic divides. The session will also present key findings from the Wealth Tracker India 2026 Report, offering important insights into patterns of wealth concentration and inequality in the country.
