From a simple and cheap tax, GST has metamorphosed into a tax on everything. Nothing happened as expected since its inception. To cover the huge revenue gap between the Centre and the States, more items are brought into the tax net, making the life of common people more miserable. Curiously, luxury goods get tax reductions while the necessities earlier exempted are taxed!Β
