Engagement with Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM US)
EXIM US is one of the lead international financiers of Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP), which is a 3,960 MW pit-head coal-based power plant in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. EXIM-US had committed Corporate Loan USD 917 million to the project. Power Finance Corporation (PFC) the financial institution under the Ministry of Power, India is the nodal agency for getting the basic infrastructure like land, water supply, environment clearances, etc. for UMPPs. Reliance Power Limited is responsible for executing this project.
Along with EXIM US, the other international lenders – Bank of China, China Development Bank and EXIM Bank of China together financed 75% of this Rs. 19400 Cr project.
