Medha Patkar, founder of the Narmada Bachao Andolan and leader of the National Alliance of People’s Movements, spoke on “Exposing the World Bank: Colonial Contracts, Capitalist Profits, and the Fight from Below.” 

On the 80th anniversary of the World Bank and IMF, the Independent People’s Tribunal challenged their role in displacement, inequality, and ecological harm. Created in 1993, it is a forum of judges, experts, and activists that investigates abuses when official bodies fail.
